Confirmed from Carson River Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Picnicking and hiking are available at this spot with kid-friendly trails, benches, and restrooms.
What runners say about Carson River Recreation Area
“Short walk from parking area to the water, clean ( due to respectfully cleaning up after ourselves) no bathrooms but beautiful trails that follow the river!”
“Perfect place to bring the kids and dogs out for a relaxing walk!”
Well I can’t say enough about this beautiful river park !! Carson City ought to put a paved bicycle path along this river it’s beautiful. The park has a boat launch famous for kayakers. Lots of picnic tables and benches to enjoy near the parking area. There are also secluded swim holes along the river.
Really great outdoor space. Great to see the picnic tables out for when the weather is more favorable. I really liked the river trail, there's even a bench along it to just take it all in. A good amount of different trails also with varying lengths and inclines. Just a really nice place to enjoy nature.
Fun place. Visited w mtn bikes. Good trails but meant more for dirt bikes. Spotless portapotty.
I love it! Short walk from parking area to the water, clean ( due to respectfully cleaning up after ourselves) no bathrooms but beautiful trails that follow the river!
