Confirmed from Caruth Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Caruth Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (310 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Beautiful and pristine park with stocked lake tucked away in Highland Park neighborhood.”

This is a fantastic little park. There's a playground, baseball field, empty field, 2 tennis courts, and a pond. There are a benches throughout, a little walking path, and picnic tables. The pond is stocked for fishing. There are tons of little catfish and bluegills. There are also big catfish and VERY large carp.

★★★★★ — Brooke , Jun 2018

This is a great little park tucked away off of Hillcrest. It's usually quiet and has a nice walking path that encircles it. There is pond with two fountains in the middle surrounded by stone benches for picnicking. The park has a jungle gym, swing sets, tennis courts and a huge grassy area for catch.

★★★★☆ — Jeremy , Aug 2016

Small trail with tennis court and some ponds with fountains. Good for kids they do have a park area to play. You can fish the ponds.

★★★★☆ — Amanda , Jun 2023

One of the best community park. People like to go there and walking around or sit there watch kids play on the playground. The pond is very nice.

★★★★★ — George , Nov 2017

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
