Confirmed from Cascade Trail - Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Cascade Trail - Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (279 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“Along the way, there are many large boulders in the middle of the stream that you can sit on & just enjoy the gorgeous scenery.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“A nice quiet little walk up a (semi) private location.”

👟 good for all levels 7 mentions

“For the most part, it is an easy hike along the stream that ends with a beautiful view of the cascade.”

Some rocks & roots to look out for. Relatively easy otherwise. One tricky spot where trail ends up in the rocks in creek bed but with careful rock hopping you can regain the trail. Wear sturdy footwear. Cascade best seen if you climb down to the creek bed at the trail end.

Wow the most beautiful peaceful area, I have been. Believe me I've been to alot of places. Few pointers though. You have to park at the YMCA. The trail starts behind the building right in front of the elementary school. Same parking lot as the Y.

I took my ten year old grandson and we had such a fun time! Park at YMCA or nearby park. Waterfall is beautiful and hike is easy and fun along water. Wear appropriate shoes it can be muddy and wet in spots. Great hike not too hard even for young children.

It's a short walk. Nothing to insane. Great for a stroll on lunch if you're working locally. It's nature, what's not to love. The falls aren't exactly what you expect of a typical waterfall but still a phenomenal sight. I've been about ten times this year. It's a great local waterfall.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 29 mentions

“A short trail to some nice waterfalls, the trail has eroded in some spots so be prepared to hike around or through the creek to get to the end.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
