Confirmed from Cascades Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Cascades Park is one of the nicest places in Tallahassee for relaxation, exercise, and spending quality time outdoors. I recently visited the park and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.

This is a nice downtown park with a paved walking loop and gentle elevation changes that make it easy and enjoyable to walk. The path isn’t very wide, so side-by-side walkers can cause congestion; patience and a little courtesy go a long way here.

★★★★★ — Oberon , Jan 2026

Cascades Park is multi-level with hilly paths, spaciuos grass areas, picnic tables, a play area for children and stairs to the street above, a stream and of course a water fall , hence, Cascades Park. There are shooting water fountains to run through on a hot day.

★★★★★ — Barbara , Feb 2026

We have been going to Cascades Park downtown for at least the past 4 years and love it. Beautiful park, awesome amphitheater (wish it was used more often), wonderful walkways, pretty pond, and delightful views of downtown (especially during stunning sunsets).

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
