Confirmed from Cathedral Rock Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Leafy local park with cycling & walking trails, play equipment, a pavilion & picnic tables.

What runners say about Cathedral Rock Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,236 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 6 mentions

“The bike trail is spacious, well-maintained, and gives you plenty of room to build up speed without constant interruptions.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“This time of the year the weather I'd very beautiful and you can easily walk or bike or jog on this trail.”

🌳 shaded & cool 5 mentions

“Some parts are well shaded while other parts have a lot of direct sun exposure (so plan accordingly).”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“It was quiet for the nostalgia part but there were areas where park workers had machines running, pretty loud.”

Beautiful scenery and the trails are well maintained. Whether you’re wanting to bike, walk, or run, the trails are a couple of miles one way so make sure to bring water. They aren’t super challenging trails, but they offer different levels depending on your desire and ability.

The park itself is rather small. It also has a good percent of it flagged off with do not cross yellow tape while City employees are doing something to the wooden areas all around the playground. I did walk down the trails about a quarter mile out and a quarter mile back. It was all paved and ADA accessible.

★★★★☆ — Island , Aug 2025

This park has play scapes, picnic tables, covered pavilion and trails. The trails are a maze of both paved and rough hiking trails. The elevation of the park changes and can be a challenge if you are hiking and are not in shape. If you are into geology the park has a fault that is clearly visible.

Stopped by for the first time today after A LOT of rain. Paved trail was still very walkable and it was gorgeous with all the water rushing through. Definitely going back when it's dry to check out the dirt trails.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
