Confirmed from Leon Creek Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

San Antonio needs more trails like this. I was on foot, but I really want to bring my bike here. Everything is scenic and looks well kept. Water fountains for humans but even a function that dispenses water into a little public doggie bowl (great if you want to bring your fury friends for extended times) , portable…

Casual road bike and mountain bike recommended. A lot of blind corners and pedestrians (Skinny trails). I wouldn't come here to get a good workout biking. Wildlife roams freely with the trail so watch for deer when on bicycle. I also wouldn't tow a bicycle trailer with your kids here.

Wide open paved trails, lush green grass, a deer just a few feet away, and people out walking their dogs and riding their bikes. What more could you ask for when have a lively crew of people enjoying it with you…? Can’t complain and can’t wait to spend another wonderful Spring day there with everybody!

I go bike riding here. Good view. I feel safe here. Good for jogging, running, biking. Its better than riding your bike on the streets, where you can get hit by a car.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
