Confirmed from Cave Spring Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Cave Spring Trailhead
“scenic path, rough in spots with little hills but not to hard for any age.”
This 1/4 mile trail connects Buffalo Lake Trail and Haycraft Trail. The "cave spring" is located just a few feet from Buffalo Creek. The trail can be quite rutted, rocky and with exposed roots depending upon the time of year. There are a few markers indicating some historical locations.
A hidden slice of nature within the hustle of Elizabethtown. Took dogs along the buffulo trail about half a mile to the cave springs trail . scenic path, rough in spots with little hills but not to hard for any age. Enjoy the spirit of the wild!
Good single track trails, mild climbing, perfect if you happen to be staying at one of the hotels at the i65 exit. I'm sure they're good for walking/trail running too.
Took the grandkids for a walk, we all had inexpensive cameras and just enjoyed the trip to the fullest extent. A great experience all around.

- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
