Confirmed from John Helm Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about John Helm Trailhead
“Beautiful place to take the dog and chill out!”
“The trail was so peaceful that I forgot there were businesses nearby.”
This 3/4 mile trail runs parallel to Freeman creek. This trail is paved from Helmwood Shopping Center to Diecks Drive. After crossing this road it becomes rough with exposed roots, and is difficult to navigate anything other then a bicycle. The trail continues to the Dam at Freeman Lake.
I really enjoyed the walk over the bouncy bridge. The trail was so peaceful that I forgot there were businesses nearby.
Great little trail that feels like it’s deep in the woods. Trails continue for about 2-3 miles.
