Confirmed from Centennial Trail - Schneider's Passage's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Peaceful, paved trail along the Des Plaines River suitable for hiking, biking, and viewing an eagle's nest.
What runners say about Centennial Trail - Schneider's Passage
“It’s is clean and friendly with plenty of photography to be had I did spot one Eagle in her nest not too far north of the Swinging Bridge but is rather deep into the wetlands.”
“Beautiful trail, decent toilet (1-person)at parking lot for the trail.”
“Nice and flat, meanders between the river and the canal, much shade, deer, long trail with multiple connections, a lot of birding areas.”
A dream for bikers on this beautifully paved 26 mile trail. I can't wait to see it in the fall.
Paved trail with beautiful views of the Des plain river. Stroller friendly. There are a lot of bicyclists tho! If you're walking take caution because they are fast. Be sure to get a picture of the swing bridge and check out the historic fact of it!
Not too far from that swing bridge, Is this bald eagle's nest .. Took these pictures 2 days ago. But you can't see it from the paved trail Went back a week later, in more of a stealth mode, & got pictures of the happy couple .. the Male circling over head.. and his mate perched center screen in the distance. Zoom in!
A nice nature hike/bike trail with ample lanes. The greenery is oddly contrasted by the industrial, ending-scene-of-an-action-movie background. There's a couple of those aggressive blackbirds on the bridge by the parking area, though, so watch out of you stop on the bridge for more than a couple of minutes.

“Other than a one mile stretch on a road running through some construction companies (with light traffic), the trail is mostly in wooded areas.”
