I was passing through the area for work and was looking for a trail or park to spend a few hours exploring. Found this little gem just driving by and decided to stop. Glad I did. It was a beautiful trail through the woods next to water.

A 4 ⭐️ because there is room for improvement. My experience for a nature hike was 5 ⭐️ While visiting this Salado area, we hit the road to enjoy the views. When all of a sudden we’re like “Whoa! Turn right, right now!” on the side of the road before the dam is an inauspicious sign for a park.
A nice peaceful place to hike! Absolutely beautiful. If you’re planning on going in the falls, I recommend bringing some extra clothes in your car, water shoes (as the waters are VERY rocky and can be hard to balance in with bare feet), doing this last, and I don’t recommend swimming, only really walking in the water,…
