Confirmed from Chamna Natural Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Dog-friendly 276-acre park offering miles of trails for hiking, jogging, horseback riding & biking.
What runners say about Chamna Natural Preserve
“Overall it's a beautiful and peaceful place to be”
I love this trail! I come here to train clients, meditation, connect with nature, professional photography and just have fun with the kids ! This place is simply awesome!
Chamna is an awesome place for some light to moderate hiking. It is interesting how unique all the trail systems are in this area. The River trail and Peninsula Loop walk you around the Yakima River and through some woodsy type areas. In contrast, the Sage Trail and Tap Teal Trail walks through a more arid, open area.
I love hiking around Chamna. I grew up in this s area and spent more nights fishing and camping along this area than I can remember. There is a great trail that hugs the river. There are also several more trails used by hikers and mountain bikers. The bikers are extremely courteous.
Different trails for different levels of shrubbery and wildlife. Didn't have any problems with ticks because me, my wife and my son didn't bring pets with us like others probably did. The signs are posted through out the area to indicate where you are so it's impossible to get lost.
