A great park any time of year. And it’s only 3-4 min drive from the hospital, so it’s great if you have a wait. There is also a gallery/gift shop right next to it.
To be honest, we hadn't planned on visiting the Howard Amon Park while we were in Richland for a couple of days. But an emergency meant that we needed to book a hotel for one extra night, and we found one next to the park. I went for a walk before dinner and another in the morning before breakfast.
I haven't seen any park more beautiful than it. Maybe I haven't seen enough number of parks? By the Columbia river with clean water, it offers a lot of playgrounds for the kids and parents alike. Great place to run and bike. Dog walking also a good option.
Beautiful park with 64 acres of recreation. There are miles of walking paths along the Columbia River. There are benches, swings, clean restrooms, play areas for the kids, small beach and swim area, and boat docks. During the warmer months there are many activities in the park, River cruises, boat races, etc.
