We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Chehalis - Western Trail Trailhead - Fir Tree Road yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Chehalis - Western Trail Trailhead - Fir Tree Road
About 8 parking spots. There is a porta potty, but no water. Be careful heading south on the trail from Fir Tree Road. There are many root bumps, especially in the first section.
This is one of my favorite places to park and walk the trail. I appreciate the recent extension of parking to accommodate how popular this trailhead has become. This trailhead allows for a nice picnic, enjoying a leisurely walk on the trail, biking and more.
Love running these trails on the weekends, never too crowded and they go forever. Only thing I wish is they got cleaned off every once in awhile.
The trail is great. Fir Tree area on the trail is easy parking and rest along this southern part of the trail
