Confirmed from Childs Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I love Childs Park so much! I see such a wide array of people using it from retired people having a meet up, day camps looking at the garden or people walking their dogs. The flower garden is beautiful. My kids love looking at the frogs and turtles in the lily pond. Every town should have a Childs Park.

Beautiful park to walk around and look at the lovely gardens. I love that we can bring our dog for a walk here.

Beautiful park to bring kids, walk your dog, or just sit in the grass. Super clean and well maintained! Beautiful roses and flowers too! You can even have small weddings here for a modest fee. Perfect for picnics.

★★★★★ — Eva , Mar 2021

Nice place. Great for a late winter dog walk. People I passed were either friendly or kept to themselves. And then you find cut flowers stuffed into the remnants of a snow bank, just to keep things interesting

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Childs Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
