Chino Hills State Park offers a vast expanse for outdoor enthusiasts, and its sheer size is impressive. However, my recent visits have been a bit of a mixed bag, leading to a four star rating.
I did the Bane Canyon Loop Trail and it took 2hr40min round trip. If you park in the street it is free, and there are lots of spots. The hike itself was moderate, half paved road and half dirt trail. Overall moderate difficulty, some hills. The views are decent, the whole park is very vast and there are lots of hills.
Very lush and green as of March (went 3/22)! Just a beautiful scenery in itself. Flowers are starting to pop here and there along some of the trails. Not sure how much will bloom later on given the lack of rain this season but hopefully we get some more blooms!
This is a beautiful park! We visited last week when all the poppies were in full bloom, and it was stunning. The park offers numerous hiking trails and even a campsite. There's an entrance fee to park in the main lot, but many people park on nearby neighborhood streets and walk in.
