Confirmed from City Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Wooden playground surrounded by towering trees, plus an indoor pool. Picnic tables.
What runners say about City Park
“Which is a very clean & welcoming place.”
“Beautiful and quite for relaxing and stress buster on a busy work week located in the center of the city and has an easy access and can entertain all age groups.”
“It is a much more family friendly place now than it was 10 years ago!”
The McMinnville city park is absolutely nice, both for a stroll around the park on the well maintained trails, a picnic at the provided tables, for the kids to have a good time in the iconic playground. The bathrooms are standard park, but when we visited, they were newly cleaned and not gross at all.
We had driven from Salem and brought are dog. When we were looking for a park for him to take a walk. It is a pretty park ( we found frogs) with lots of history. It has good signage and information board as to how and what was originally on the land you can see some of the stairs leading up to the to the top.
Great wooden park next to the library and pool walking distance to downtown shops. Lots of room for running around fenced in on back side which is nice kids are more likely to stay in play area. Some walking trails and a second bigger playground not far away but not visible either you would need to know it is there.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
