Confirmed from Discovery Meadows Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Lots of shady areas, bathrooms were clean.”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“This place has lots of shade, lots of toys and even a splash park!”

👟 good for all levels 4 mentions

“Wonderful park in the area to stop by, something for kids of all ages.”

This is one if the coolest free city parks ever! There are a few different areas of the playground with a really tall play structure for older kids, and small play structures for littlest kids.

What a rad find! After eating lunch at a brew pub in town, our waitress recommended this place for our kiddo to run off that wild toddler energy before driving back to Portland. They have several play structures for big kids and little kids.

Discovery park is awesome!!! There is so much to do here - the giant sand hill, splash pad, and super tall play structure are our favorite features. The park is huge - lots of walking paths and fields to play in. Lots of parking as well! The covered areas are wonderful as well - perfect for a party.

This is a wonder place to visit! Love taking my son here, great place to play, have about everything you may be looking for at a park. Wonderful play structures, basketball court, skate park, baseball field, plenty of space to walk, covered picnic tables!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
