Confirmed from City View Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about City View Trail
Excellent trail that is close to town. The trail is well traveled and clean. Some parts are wide enough for two people to walk side by side but it’s mostly single track. No bikes allowed.
Nice trail that's close to town! The view is decent but not too impressive. Nice air. But the downhill shortcut can be slippery, so hike cautiously.
Trail is much bigger than expected. Great for a morning hike. Was shaded as you go uphill.
Great trail for hiking and running. Beautiful views at sunset/sunrise. once you get to the bench after going straight after the switchbacks there are rolling hills ahead that loop around. Nice enclosed but also open feeling at the same time. If you are wanting to run this trail be cautious of loose rocks and roots.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
