Confirmed from Clayton Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

My favorite place to power walk! Nothing like hitting the trail everyday, you can walk near the ball games and listen to the laughter, or around the pond and hear the frogs and see people enjoying some quite time fishing or take a dirt trail and omg how beautiful out on the trails to take amazing pics!

I love the upgrades made to the park! They’ve made the playground WAY bigger and added multiple slides as well.. I’m also glad they repaved the trail

I was up from Florida visiting my sister and niece. They brought me to this park that was a part of my sister's childhood. Although I was in weather I didn't quite know how to handle and was absolutely Frozen and shaking I walked the nicest trails!!! I saw people of so many walks of life just enjoying this place!

We have lived in Clayton for 4 years and just recently discovered this park. I love the walking trails. There is ample shade and it's not super crowded. Our dogs don't enjoy crowded walks, but this is the perfect spot for them. The pond could use some maintenance but otherwise, everything is great.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 5 mentions

“There is a public restroom near the baseball field that is reasonably clean and well kept.”

Plan your run at Clayton Community Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
