Confirmed from East Clayton Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Scenic dog-friendly park with a baseball field, a disc-golf course and multiple soccer goals.

What runners say about East Clayton Community Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (841 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“The fairways are very well maintained, free of brush and timber.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Nice soccer fields, beautiful area, and what an awesome playground on the opposite side of the soccer fields!”

About a mile long loop. The trail consists of gravel road, paved road, and sidewalk. Big hills. Half of the trail is in the sun, half is in the woods with lots of shade. Wear bug spray for the woody parts. Yes, I felt safe on this trail. It’s not super populated.

Review on the disc golf course: this is an excellent NOT BUSY course, it runs about 2 miles through the woods, and is challenging with elevations and drops, left curving fairways, and lots of woods. The fairways are very well maintained, free of brush and timber.

My boys and I love this place. The new turf fields are so awesome!!! We have a blast playing soccer. They have some benches for each field which have the lines painted. We do wear cleats and do just fine.

★★★★★ — Todd , Jan 2024

The community park lives up to its name with great trails, a jogging and bicycle asphalt trail that is perfect to walk around the park. There is multiple fields for after school activities. There is a doggie park across the street.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
