Confirmed from Clear Creek Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Clear Creek Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (109 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 10 mentions

“Lastly, I rode a hybrid with 38 mm tires on the trail because most of the ride I did was on the gorgeous Highway 206.”

Rattlesnake warning and some slippery slopes higher up. Great views and good winter hike or bike in my opinion.

★★★★☆ — Margaret , Jul 2022

Great single track trail that starts in the Carson Valley and heads up to Spooner Summit to connect with the TRT. Trail surface is mostly smooth with a few mildly rocky areas, the lower 2 miles can be a little sandy during the dry season.

★★★★★ — Brian , Jan 2022

The pup's favorite hiking spot. Great place to ride bikes or run with the dogs. Watch out for snakes late summer to autumn.

★★★★★ — Tyler , Aug 2021

A really nice trail that you can go a long way on if you want, 14 plus miles. The first part is a steady but gradual grade that offers wonderful views of the Carson Valley. The trail diverges quite a bit and is used by a lot of mountain bikers. Lots of nice wild flowers in bloom now!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
