Confirmed from Kings Canyon Waterfalls' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 12 mentions

“Beautiful waterfalls with a trail that loops up and into the Jeffrey Pine/White Fir montane zone.”

Beautiful waterfalls with a trail that loops up and into the Jeffrey Pine/White Fir montane zone. Great place to experience the benefits of Nature. Best time to go... Weekdays and midmorning or after 6 p.m. in the summer, when visitation numbers tend to be lower... Also better time to enjoy the wildlife of the area.

Kings Canyon Waterfall is an awesome place to visit in Carson City. The falls are only an easy short 1/4 mile hike from the parking area and is best to see during the Spring/Summer months when the snow is melting. Highly recommend visiting if wanting to do a short hike in Carson City.

The parking area directions from Google maps was spot on. There's a restroom and trail maps there at the start as well. We started out with a trio to the waterfall, 0.3 miles- then switched over to the kings canyon loop. The trail switches back on itself a bit, is in full sun and has stunning views.

What a neat place to hike to! A very short hike gets you to a small waterfall and creek. I am sure it is even more spectacular in the spring snow melts. We saw squirrels, rabbits, and butterflies on our hike. I am sure you could see deer and coyotes at dawn or dusk when there are not many people around.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
