Confirmed from Coal Mountain Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Our family comes here often and we enjoy this park. We use the covered pavilion at the community building, the playground and covered tables at the playground. The playground is partiality covered, which is great, and it's huge! There's only one slide, but it's tall and fast; a must for my preschooler.

This park is perfect for 2-8 year olds of all capabilities. It's on a rubber composite floor, it has shade covers, plenty of seating, and there are plenty of bathrooms that are temperature controlled and clean. My kids (7yo and 5yo girls and 3yo boy) love this place.

★★★★★ — Amanda , Feb 2018

Park with a lot of good fields. Very quiet on a Tuesday night when I went. Kids play area is kind of small but includes a "sun sail" that will provide good shade in the summer. Clean and well kept park.

★★★★☆ — Kyle , Apr 2018

We ran across this park on our way to Dahlonega. We needed a pit stop to stretch our legs and use the bathroom. This park is wonderful for more than just a pit stop. It is SO clean! There are tennis courts, a soccer pitch, lots of baseball fields, a kiddie playground, a paved walking path... Really cool.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
