Confirmed from Columbia Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

One of my favorite parks for walking my dogs. Very large park with plenty of different areas to walk. Inside the park there are various paths you can take. There is a large community garden at the back of the park and on one side of the park there is a large field that runs the length of the park.

Lake Balboa Park (Van Nuys) is my go to for morning run. This day I decided to switch things up by going to Columbia Park to meet my Brother for a run as well. I meet my Brother at Columbia mid morning. After chat/warm up, it was time to run and admire Columbia Park and it's scenery.

Columbia Park this is one of the nicest cleanest well kept parks that I have been to and I have been going to this park for quite some time it is super large even when it’s crowded there’s so much room!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
