Confirmed from Conejo Canyons Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Conejo Canyons Trail Head
“Not my favorite trail system because everything requires a "mile on a fire road" buy in, but some beautiful trails and views if you are willing to hike further.”
“Great for hiking and trail running.”
So many trails to hike. Beautiful time of year in spring. So many wildflowers.
Gorgeous Hiking and Running. Take the Butte Trail (Santa Rosa Trailhead) for a beautiful 5.0 loop (great running as well). Take the hill in the beginning to get it over with and get your warm up on. You will see quail, deer, cacti and more California flora and fauna than you can shake a stick at.
An all time favorite hike of mine. Has elevation and clear paths, river nearby to relax but if you want. There are shady trails or some more exposed trails too, I enjoy having the variety.
What open space isn't great! Great for biking and hiking. Can get hot in the sun. Hawk canyon trail and any area in the valley is teaming with birds. Highly recommend for the Auduboners.
