Confirmed from Conference House Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 20 mentions

“The historical buildings are really cool to look at and the views of the water are absolutely stunning, especially when the sun is out.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“The grounds are kept in great condition, making it a peaceful place to enjoy the views and get some fresh air.”

I like going when there aren't people around. The last few times I went with my fiance, we were lucky. We only saw one or two people around far from us. We like to go to the beach and watch the sunset, and walk around and take pictures. It's so peaceful and beautiful. Sometimes we spot a family of deer.

Despite still showing debris some hurricane Sandy this is one of the best parts and best beaches on Staten Island. It is quiet relaxing and out of the way especially on weekdays. It is also a great place to walk your dog or take your kids for a day out and about.

Conference House Park is an amazing place to go to relax and to visit some NYC/Staten Island history. The nature paths, the main park area, the deck that faces a beautiful view of New Jersey, and also the spot on beach area that is southernmost part of NY state, are all things that I highly recommend.

Nice park on the south end of Staten Island. Historic Conference house surrounded by a park overlooking Raritan Bay. Great place for a walk or a bike ride with a nice view of the bay. Beautiful sunsets. Very clean and well maintained. Free parking.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“Update 2024: Still beautiful even for summer walks; I would prefer a bit more trimmimg of their grass specifically at the dog run since signs of ticks are posted.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
