We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Conway Common Lands State Forest yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Conway Common Lands State Forest
“Beautiful area with many hiking trails.”
“Nice easy hike for young and older, not too difficult on the knees.”
Excellent hike! About 30 minutes each way so it's quick but rewards with an awesome view! My 4 year old son was able to do this hike entirely on his own.
Nice easy hike for young and older, not too difficult on the knees. We were there on 4th of July week so it seemed fairly busy. Parking lot was full, but found side of road fairly easily. Hiked to Black Cap from parking lot and back, less than 2 hours. 12 yr old son jogged the trail fairly easily and had fun.
Beautiful area with many hiking trails. We did the Black Cap Mountain trail which cuts through this forest. Awesome hike and the view at the top was awesome. There are also flatter trails if you don't want to do the steeper option. Beautiful all around 🤓
Nice hike up to black cap mountain. Takes about an hour and a half round trip. Not super demanding
