Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“However, the "easy hike" description and words like "family" and "small children" need clarification.”

This hike was super quick and had amazing views for sunset. It took us about 35 minutes to get up at a very fast pace, and was entirely uphill. I would suggest if you’re a beginner hiker you take your time going up as it’s very rocky and full of roots. But it is so worth it at the summit!

Wonderful views! However, the "easy hike" description and words like "family" and "small children" need clarification. This is not a walk. Bring water and a snack for the break at the summit. It is quite strenuous for the non-hiker.

Great hike for families with small kids and dogs. Hike is straightforward and not technical at all. Two different paths to the summit. The direct path is pretty steep and rocky while the alternate trail is well groomed and more of a gradual incline. We opted to take that route on the way back down.

Moderately challenging hike but we all did it. Ages ranging from 10 to 54. Highly recommended. Beautiful panorama views of Downtown North Conway, Cathedral Ledge, and other mountains.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
