Confirmed from Cooters Pond Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Serene green space with shade trees, 2 boat ramps, picnic pavilions, a dog park & a nut grove.
What runners say about Cooters Pond Park
“The fishing wasn't the greatest when I went but the ramp was big and nice and plenty of place to tie the boat off and the area was clean and well kept.”
“Cooter Pond is absolutely beautiful.”
“Also the big trees give plenty of shade but there is also a pavillion with tables too.”
“Very quiet and peaceful place for walking as well as for the use of the boat launch.”
“Our dog loved the dog park!”
What a gem for Prattville! This was recommended to me by a local person as it didn't immediately show up on my searches. This is an absolutely wonderful park, with amazing views, picnic benches, drills, and a stream that was wonderful to walk through barefoot. The park has a lovely dog park as well.
Very nice park with lots of open space for picnics and family fun. Our dog loved the dog park! The only thing that could make this better is trails down around the pond for a stroll. Note that the parking lot Google Maps directs you to is near the picnic area and boat ramps.
Very quiet and peaceful place for walking as well as for the use of the boat launch. The dog park looks great too.

The practical stuff

- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
