Confirmed from Council Point Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
A creek & popular fitness trail wind through this city park with several ball fields & a playground.
What runners say about Council Point Park
“It's clean, you see people out walking there dogs, sometimes other people might Rollerblade on skates, people come to also ride there bicycles to!”
“The creek is nice, and the dog-friendly park and landscape makes it a great place for a cookout.”
I go there just about all the time to do my walking if the weather is permitted. I love coming to this park. It's clean, you see people out walking there dogs, sometimes other people might Rollerblade on skates, people come to also ride there bicycles to! and there is a little play area for kids! Nice park!
Just recently moved to the area, and luckily this park is only about a mile away. Walking to the park, around both loops, and back to the house is about 3.5 miles. We had a place by our old house where we would go and walk, so I am glad this is such a close and easy walk.
No longer Dog friendly (with leash) park! Went to take my K9 friend for a walk and new signs are now posted.😕 Might just be a "suggestion" though as I see lots of dogs. Could be having problems with people letting dogs of leashes too
A large park with lots of green space and a paved path that goes along the river. There is also a playground, soccer fields, a baseball field, and roller hockey.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
