Confirmed from Olson Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Olson Memorial Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (161 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 6 mentions

“The bathroom is clean and well maintained in that it usually has soap and toilet paper.”

It was such a nice little park. A trail that leads around a big hill and it also goes down a nice shaded area. They have bathrooms but they aren't open during the winter season. I think if I ever find myself back in portage I'd totally take a nice walk down this path again.

There's not a whole lot at this park- a small playground, a sledding hill, and a few picnic tables. However, it is a lovely little park where you can go to relax and watch the birds and butterflies. There are restrooms which are open during the summer which is nice, also access to the Prairie Duneland trail.

This is basically an empty spot on the bike path that has a public washroom, but if you've been walking a couple hours, it beats stepping behind a tree. The bathroom is clean and well maintained in that it usually has soap and toilet paper. I'm not sure what else makes this area a park but it's a great place to pee.

★★★★☆ — Samuel , May 2021

This is a great small park, especially for the littler kids. I don't have to worry about them getting on a huge slide or having a big fall. That being said, the park probably wouldn't be as fun for kids older than seven. There is a bathroom nearby, and hills that the kids can run up and down. Love this park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
