Confirmed from Cowdrey Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This conservation area with woods & a brook offers many hiking trails & places for dogs to roam.
What runners say about Cowdrey Nature Center
“In the Fall, there is a beautiful foliage from the bording marsh which are full of Maples a other colorful plants and trees.”
“A peaceful hike (November 2023) in the woods of town #179 (Lunenberg) towards 351 (every city and town in Massachusetts).”
“Either way, it was a very easy hike that was perfect for my 5 year old and our lab had a great time too.”
We found these trails when googling for walking trails near us that allowed dogs. Although it was only the next town over, I had never heard of it. It seems to be a network of trails that cover a decent area. The area we walked was beautiful, peaceful, and full of nature sounds!
You can find beaver and muskrat lodges, it’s a nice hike through wetlands and fields.
I have been hiking these trails for more than 20 years and it will always have a place in my heart. Even after hiking in multiple states The Cowdrey Nature Center will always be one of my favorites.
It's a great walking trail, with numerous paths and "troll" bridges to explore. The map of the place isnt exactly perfect, but it isn't so large that even if you miss a turn or path you wouldn't find your way out just by staying on any of them. Lose the path, you add some hike time on, but civilization is not far!
Trail conditions & character
