Confirmed from Cowpens National Battlefield's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Cowpens is a great NPS site to visit especially if you are doing the 3 sites in South Carolina regarding the southern campaign of the American Revolution! The history here is great and the rangers very knowledgeable! The museum is very cool too! Walking the nature trail was also rewarding!

I stopped by here to turn in my over mountain junior ranger booklet that I picked up last year along with tje Southern Strategy booklet from the revolition. There are a lot of trees cut at this time. There were a lot of people walking dogs on the road trail. It is a loop of 3.5 miles.

I go to the battleground part at least twice a week. With my baby boy, the Duke. And we have short trails that we walked together And we have longer trails that we walk on better days. This park is always clean and free from debris and vagrants.

Great for walks alone, with friends and/or with family! Beautiful scenery! You can go in the woods on the trail or stay on the road and walk or ride bikes. You can also walk your dogs just be sure to clean up after them of course. Definitely recommend.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
