Confirmed from Coyote Pond, Yana Trail Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Coyote Pond, Yana Trail Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (75 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Did this in late December, I’ll be doing it in the spring knowing this will be an even more beautiful place to experience.”

Great place to walk or ride around. I usually like to come here to ride my electric scooter. You can bring your horses and bike on trails. Just heads up no motor on trails. They do have a destination area to hunt. Main reason why I have 5 stars is they have bathrooms and the roads are good to drive.

Jelly's Ferry area has miles of beautiful trails near the Sacramento River, among the oak groves and meadows.

★★★★★ — Dennis , Apr 2024

Beautiful this time of year (spring). It's amazing any time of year. It connects you with a network of trails that cover the natural California landscape, Sacramento river canyons and beaches. Wide open spaces and amazing scenery. Horse back, mountain bike or hike.

★★★★★ — Vinicio , Apr 2016

Editing my review. I was complaining about the ponds being dry but that's dumb because I've been having a blast biking these trails. There are so many trails for miles. This park is a gem.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
