Confirmed from Sacramento River Bend Hog Lake Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Sacramento River Bend Hog Lake Trailhead
“I stopped here on Earth Day 2023 and it was such a beautiful sight to behold!”
Hog Lake Trailhead Bureau of Land Management April 2025 Easy to find with signage on Hwy 36. The pastureland is dotted with volcanic rock everywhere. It’s Spring time and the pastures are green and full of tiny flowers, which the cows seemed to appreciate as they chomped their way by us (within 20’) No fences, only…
Beautiful walk around the lake. Many birds, ducks etc. Flat easy nice walk. God size parking lot for day use and overnight stay.
Although I didn't see any sign of hogs, I did talk to someone who had seen them before in years past. Great hike though!
Great spot for a little hike, run or bike ride. Views are great if it's a clear sky.
