Confirmed from Paynes Creek Crossing Trailhead: Hog Lake Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Paynes Creek Crossing Trailhead: Hog Lake Trail
Easy trail, might get a little wet when cross creek during water flow but not bad, I play frogger and hop rock to the other side. Past that the Trail is a walk...... but panyes creek trail head becomes Sacremento River Bend Hog lake trailhead on hwy36.
Well kept trails, great views of snow capped mountains and dozens of polite cows, deer further in the woods, and plenty of quail. Unfortunately no sign of pigs.
