Confirmed from Cranes Roost Park (North Side)'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Cranes Roost Park (North Side)
“The park is always very clean and everyone is always very friendly.”
“This park is absolutely one of the most beautiful parks around.”
“Great place to jog or walk around the lake.”
This park is well maintained and well lit in the evenings. The park is clean and there’s plenty of dog bag stations. Good trail to go for a run and take your dog around the lake.
A well manicured and cared for park, with a excellent pathway that is situated around and over the lake. The path is exactly a mile, and perfect for taking the pup for a stroll, and catching a little fresh air. While staying in the area for a few days I walked it every day at least twice.
I love this place! Such a beautiful place to walk around, day or night. I live right next to the park and I love going there just to take a walk around the water and clear my head. They even do events on the weekends that are always fun to check out.
Beautiful place to go walking, night or day. Can feed the ducks and turtles. Super cute! It's not a boat ramp as I've lived in the area for almost 2 years now and never seen a boat on the water. Plenty of parking around usually.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
