Confirmed from Crawford Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Crawford Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (188 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“It's spacious and beautiful, and you can tell the city has put work into it.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Great playground for young children, pretty quiet on the river.”

A great place for walking the dog. Beautiful riverbank full of wildflowers. The waterpark area looks great for kids. Watched a little girl playing there and she was having a blast!

★★★★★ — Margaret , Jul 2022

Had a blast with my 3 yr old here. Wasn't busy and just the right amount of stuff for a little climber. Right next to a walking path so we even went for a river walk and explored the bridge. Nice open field and basketball courts nearby.

★★★★★ — ² , Nov 2021

This park has lots of natural shade which is perfect for those who burn easily. It's also on the smaller side so it's easy to have a visual on your youngsters. There is a splash pad and camp la salle playground are both within walking distances up the river path from this park.

★★★★★ — Esther , Aug 2018

Very calm and nice area. If you want a little more quiet time this is a better time than the one a little up the street. You can fish or take a nice walk by the river. The bathrooms are seriously far away and only in one area. So if your kid has to pee, bushes it is or on themselves if they can't hold it.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Crawford Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
