Confirmed from Kamm Island Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
7.5-acre green space offering riverside fishing areas, walking trails & fields for picnic & events.

Didn’t realize it was actual island! Also part of thr river walk, it is a nice walk but can be precarious because of goose poop. But you get to see squirrels and rabbits, and it’s nice.
Peaceful, serene, a wonderful blend of 19th century architecture now being surrounded by river overlook condos and adjoining parks. Perfect for walking, biking, fishing, or picking a nice bench to listen to the river as you catch the next chapter of your book.
I loved all the river walk scenery. Absolutely beautiful. And the squirrels are ready to be fed. Unfortunately, I didn't have any unsalted peanuts for them. If you go early, go and enjoy the farmers' market down a bit off the walkway.
Great place to walk and enjoy nature. Shaded areas to keep cool and critters who enjoy receiving a free peanut or birdseed. Go a little further and you will end up at Central Park. Very nice area for special events such as festivals!

Plan your run at Kamm Island Park
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
