Confirmed from Crystal Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Crystal Lake Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (15 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

I would call this “choose your own adventure” park. You can make your walk, bike ride, or horseback ride as easy or as challenging as you’d like. There is a wide, paved path that is very flat that connects the route 130 and Crystal Lake South parking lots, and there are grass paths around the fields.

★★★★☆ — Caroline , Apr 2024

A quiet, serene and clean park with trails for hiking, biking, walking and just site seeing. There's even a lake that I saw people fishing 🎣. There are port a potties at the entrance, if needed and ramps for WheelchairAccess ♿

★★★★★ — Jeniffer , Nov 2024

Pleasant area to walk, bike or take your dog for a walk. Some trails are paved, some are mowed grass, and some are dirt paths.

★★★★☆ — Elaine , Oct 2023

I've been going here for years, this park keeps changing and you never know what you'll see from deer to foxes and horses. They are always keeping this park clean and you never see it overly crowded. If you like a safe and enjoyable walking area this is one to visit

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
