Confirmed from Dahlia Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Dahlia Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (111 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Peaceful access point to the Sand Creek Regional Greenway, great for walking, biking, or dog-friendly hikes. Offers open views, sunrise scenery, and easy parking.

★★★★★ — Dana , Oct 2025

My 4 star review is strictly based off its cycling potential. If I was rating it as a dog walking trail or walking trail in general it would be closer to a 3. The smell on certain parts of the trail can be intense at times but it doesn't last for too long.

★★★★☆ — Miguel , Oct 2024

It's a place to park to access the Sand Creek trail. Not the prettiest trail in Colorado but a good place for wildlife, and to stop flooding and to remind ourselves that Denver used to have an industrial side to its economy.

★★★★☆ — Paul , Feb 2024

We are fairly new to this trail head but we will definitely take it for an aftrrnoon ride through the city when the occasion calls for it!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
