Confirmed from Dakota Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Dakota Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (66 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“Nice, clean, ample parking that is close up to the covered shelter and the biggest plus of all public restrooms!”

👟 good for all levels 8 mentions

“Family friendly playground with toddler and big kid zones as well as a pickle ball court and picnic shelter.”

Nice, clean, ample parking that is close up to the covered shelter and the biggest plus of all public restrooms! Very kid friendly for all ages. (A fence structure to block off the road and hill would be a good idea. Kids, especially little kids would have to have a really close eye kept on them).

I love this park for the niece and nephew! There is such a variety of equipment for various ages as well as you can walk by the river. The bathrooms are decent and clean. However, they were locked this last time with a porter potty sitting nearby instead. The shelter is very nice and stays cool.

We love this park! My four year old still struggles a bit with the larger climbing structure. Sometimes it's so full of big kids using the structure he gets a little run over. But it has lots of things to do and a nice picnic table area for us to have lunch.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
