Confirmed from Dana Point Nature Interpretive Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Free nature center and museum with coastal trails and ocean vistas.

“This trail can get a little crowded because it’s a fairly easy hike and very popular with families.”
Beautiful place for a hike! We arrive at 7:50am on a Saturday. As of right now, the trail through the preserve is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 8am-4pm. This is because the preserve is home to an endangered mouse, and the staff noticed it thrives during Covid closures. Understandable.
The place is nice and clean. The trail is well maintained, easy hike with beautiful ocean view. Lucky to see a hawk chilling on the bushes.
Just yo the street from incredible views of the Dana point Marina and parking for a small trail. It has bathrooms and free parking. If does close at 4p tho.
Really enjoy walking along the nature trail outside of the Dayna point Center. The trail goes down the hill and around the point giving beautiful views of the ocean and up and down the coastline. On a great day, it feels almost spiritual. The pathway is well marked out, not too steep, and filled with sand.
