We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Dave Wood Interpretive Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Dave Wood Interpretive Trail
“It's a beautiful area and there's enough space for everyone to enjoy the area.”
Nice area, nice ride in. Half paved, half dirt, finding camping spot was easy. Trails right at the entrance. More than normal traffic in such a remote area along the main road. Lots of 4 wheelers going by, early morning.
It was nice to see ponderosa pine trees in this area. Trail is short, we walked the whole outer perimeter in under an hour, and it was 1.5 miles. There is a scavenger hunt here with numbered stations, and a PDF that goes with it on the website for this trail if you are interested in learning something new about the…
Easy loop trail that can also lead to more hiking trails in the area. It's compact ground and well shaded. It's a beautiful area and there's enough space for everyone to enjoy the area. There's also an established trail system just across the road from the parking area to this trail.
Really fantastic hike with great views, ski, snow shoe or walk, it's all good!
