We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Deer Run Nature Preserve yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Deer Run Nature Preserve
“90% up hill heading to the monument These are not casual trails Very good marked trails, well maintained”
Beautiful, clean and clearly marked trails. You have to cross a few streams. There were shallow areas that made it easy to continue. Comfortable waterproof hiking boots are recommended. The icy run off made the streams pretty frigid. It was a great trail to hike.
Well maintained low use trail that ends after 2.2 miles with a nice view of Stratton. Thanks to all who worked to create this. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to returning! PS I hiked in early June and did pick up a few ticks probably in the tall grass under the power lines.
