We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Putney Mountain Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“very nice and easy hike up the view is breathtaking.”

I grew up hiking Putney ⛰️ as a kid during Summer camp in nearby Newfane; usually during the 4th of July weekend to see 🎆🎇 from the summit. The view is BEAUTIFUL (you can see VT, NY, NH, MA & even down into CT & RI on clear days. Good views of Haystack, Mt. Snow & Stratton as well. 👍

Great little hike with beautiful views. A great short hike! The trail is pretty easygoing, but the couple of steeper/rocky spots would be difficult for someone with bad knees.

Beautiful, has defined trails. Some people had their dogs. Signs for safe distancing. Peaceful and kept clean. Most hikers follow good habits here!

★★★★★ — Gail , Jun 2020

Gorgeous trails well maintained. They even have leashes to borrow for your 4 legged friend!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
