Confirmed from Deerfield Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Good small park! It's located in a neighborhood but does have its own small parking lot. The lot has an accessible parking space, but the trail would require off-road capability mobility aids. The trail has gravel and little change in elevation.

Cool trail thru pine and hardwood. Connects to another path that will take you up to the big shanty. Bring mosquito repellent in the summer tho. Nice short walk over even ground crushed rock. A couple of wood bridges span a small creek.

★★★★★ — Donald , Feb 2025

The trail pretty cool. This one is Hella short but it does connect to multiple trails. Yes the ground is uneven but that won't stop a good walk. Bring that bug spray because those mosquitos are out and they won't ya bad

★★★★★ — Bcants , Oct 2021

Nice wooded path that takes you over a few bridges and creaks. Most of the trails have small parks with areas for the kiddos to play and are wrapped around subdivisions.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 5 mentions

“The trail curves gently and is very straightforward — nothing fancy in terms of views, but perfect for a peaceful walk.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
