Confirmed from Deerpark Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Quiet and walkable trail that leads from the Lagoon up to the Biltmore house and gardens.

This is a beautiful trail. The trial is a mix of areas of packed gravel and asphalt. There are spots that are rather hilly, but also areas that are very flat. Walking further down the trail that was you a great view of the French Broad River. There’s lots of shade and areas to stop and rest along the way.

★★★★★ — Cameron , Jun 2023

It was an amazing day going Biltmore Estate and walking the gardens and hiking trails to the lakes. Ended trip by walking Deer Park to the Inn. Saw lots of turkey 🦃 with young ones and to end trip we were very close to Mother Bear and 2 cubs.

Challenging but scenic ride from the lagoon to the biltmore home. Not too long, but some steep inclines that will challenge on a regular bike. Some great lookouts along the way with bench’s and quiet spots to relax and take in the scenic beauty.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
