Confirmed from Hominy Creek Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring kid-friendly hiking trails, plus a creek where visitors can play.
What runners say about Hominy Creek Greenway
“Very quiet, very secluded, yet k”
Great place except NO ONE obeys the dog leash ordinance posted at either entrance so wear clothes you don't mind a dog jumping up on and getting muddy. And if your balance is iffy, bring two poles to keep the dogs at bay so they don't knock you off your feet.
Great place for a walk or bike ride. Wish it connected better to the carrier park side
I’m come out here for peace it’s peaceful no one bothers you people come and go pep walk there dogs and people walk and some run some have there dogs with them some take there dogs down to the creek and they get in the water to cool down some throw tennis balls it’s very peaceful out here
Walking trail in the woods by a rambling creek. Parking available!! Only a couple of picnic tables. Basically just a trail in a wooded area. Very nice. Peaceful

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
