Confirmed from Defiance City Reservoir's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Dog-friendly park offering disc golf and fishing ponds as well as boardwalks and trails.
What runners say about Defiance City Reservoir
“Pretty well maintained and has very nice manicured greens.”
“It's so beautiful to walk or ride your bike.”
“The board walk is a great place to walk/run, albeit not very lengthy.”
“I'm very beginner friendly with very few chances to lose a disc.”
Great place for walking! Three different terrains, A stone path around the reservoir, paved sidewalk, and a boardwalk through the woods. Very dog friendly, and a great place for strollers and wheelchairs. Enjoyable in any season.
The board walk is a great place to walk/run, albeit not very lengthy. The grounds around the reservoir are wide open.
Nice walk through the woods on the board walk. The disc golf coarse is very dynamic but it's still fun to throw while the Mrs is walking!
I love the wooden bridge the goes around the woods. It's so beautiful to walk or ride your bike.
Trail conditions & character
“Unlike most up ground reservoirs, the hill isn't very steep, which is deceptive because it means you don't realize how deep the reservoir is.”
“Great place to get out in the sun and soak up the rays while walking/jogging laps on the path around the reservoir and the wooden boardwalk through the trees to the dog park.”
